These terms set out what we do, what we do not do, how we quote and charge, and how refunds work. Please read the section on what our services are not.

Agreement to these terms

These terms govern your use of this website and any services you engage us to provide. By using this site, submitting an enquiry, or paying for a service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site or our services.

Who we are

These services are provided by [registered legal entity name], trading as eJournal Publications, registered at [registered business address] in [country of registration]. You can reach us at editor@ejournalpublications.com.

What our services are

We provide editorial and administrative support to researchers who are publishing their own work. Specifically, we:

  • assess a manuscript you have written and identify indexed journals that suit its scope;
  • format the manuscript to a target journal template and prepare accompanying documents;
  • submit the manuscript on your behalf and correspond with the journal about its progress;
  • help you understand and draft responses to reviewer comments, which remain yours to approve;
  • process applications for reviewer panels and editorial boards at affiliated journals.

What our services are not

This is important, so we state it plainly:

  • We do not write your research for you. We do not ghostwrite papers, theses, dissertations, or assignments, and we do not sell pre-written work. The intellectual content must be yours.
  • Authorship remains with you. Our staff do not claim authorship and will not appear as authors on your work.
  • We do not guarantee publication. Editorial decisions rest entirely with the journal and its reviewers. Nobody can promise acceptance, and any service that does should be treated with suspicion.
  • We do not influence peer review. We do not pay reviewers or editors for favourable decisions, and we cannot shorten a journal own review timetable.
  • Reviewer and board appointments are applications, not purchases. Our fee covers processing and profile preparation. The appointment itself is granted at the journal discretion and may be declined.

Your responsibilities

When you engage us, you confirm that:

  • the work you send us is your own original research, and you hold the rights needed to submit it;
  • all data, results, and citations in it are accurate and honestly reported;
  • the work is not plagiarised, fabricated, or under simultaneous consideration elsewhere in breach of a journal rules;
  • all co-authors have consented to submission and to us acting on your behalf;
  • you have any approvals your research requires, such as ethics committee clearance;
  • you will review and approve anything submitted in your name.
  • We may decline or stop work, without refund of work already performed, if we have reasonable grounds to believe any of the above is untrue.

Quotes, fees, and payment

We quote each engagement individually after a free assessment, because cost depends on your target journal, your field, and the amount of editorial work required. A quote is valid for 30 days unless we say otherwise.

Payment is made through Square. By paying, you accept these terms and confirm the scope described in your quote. Article processing charges, submission fees, and other amounts payable to a journal are not included in our fee and remain your responsibility unless your quote says otherwise.

Bank charges, currency conversion costs, and card fees applied by your own provider are yours to bear.

Refunds and cancellations

You may cancel an engagement at any time by emailing us. What happens next depends on the stage:

  • Before work begins: full refund, less any transaction fee our processor does not return to us.
  • After work has begun but before submission: a pro-rata refund reflecting the work completed, assessed fairly and explained to you in writing.
  • After submission to a journal: no refund, because the service has been delivered. Rejection by a journal is not grounds for a refund, as acceptance is outside our control.
  • If we fail to deliver: if we do not perform the service described in your quote and cannot put it right within a reasonable period, you are entitled to a full refund of the affected portion.
  • Approved refunds are returned by the original payment method within 14 days.

Timescales

Any timescale we give, including the 48-hour journal shortlist, refers to our own work and to business days. Journal review periods, editorial queues, and reviewer availability are outside our control and are not part of any commitment we make.

Confidentiality

We treat unpublished manuscripts and research data as confidential. We share them only with journals you have asked us to approach, and with staff and contractors working on your project under confidentiality obligations. We will not use your unpublished work for any other purpose.

Intellectual property

You keep all rights in your manuscript, data, and research. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of your work to us.

The content of this website, including its text, layout, and graphics, belongs to us or our licensors and may not be copied or reused without permission.

Limitation of liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for loss of profit, opportunity, funding, reputation, or academic advancement, or for the decisions of any journal, reviewer, editor, or institution. Our total liability for any claim arising from an engagement is limited to the fees you paid us for that engagement.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against claims, losses, and reasonable costs arising from work you supplied that infringes the rights of a third party, breaches research or publication ethics, or contains fabricated or plagiarised material.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or end an engagement if you breach these terms, if payment is not made, or if continuing would require us to act contrary to publication ethics. We will explain our reasons in writing.

Third-party links

This site links to journals, indexing databases, and payment services operated by others. We are not responsible for their content, availability, or practices, and their terms and privacy policies apply when you use them.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version in force when you accept a quote is the one that governs that engagement. The current version is always shown on this page with its last updated date.

These terms are governed by the laws of [country of registration], and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the [courts of that country]. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of protections available under the law of your own country.
